Christina has been a member of ADRS since 2016 after attending the National Competition in Sydney, NSW. Since then she has been a big supporter of ADRS, taking on the website in 2018 and becoming the QLD State Rep in 2024.
Christina began her formal musical journey on Oboe and Violin in the UK before moving to Australia in the early 1980's. With oboe as her primary instrument Christina joined the RAAF in 1985 becoming the first woman musician in an Australian Airforce Band where she stayed until 1992. After a 25 year break from music, Christina took up the oboe again as an avocational musician playing whenever she gets the opportunity which includes playing in Dubbo & District Concert Band, Tin Roof Big Band and Orange Symphony Orchestra before moving to Toowoomba, Qld. Christina is the Principal Oboe of Toowoomba Concert Orchestra, Toowoomba Concert Band and also a member of the Navy Veteran Band. In the past two years in Toowoomba Christina has also played with the Toowoomba Philharmonic Society as a member of the orchestra and as a solist as well as a Toowoomba Choral Society musical "Les Miserables", Bardon Strings, in Brisbane, Ars Cantorum as guest soloist. She is also the founding member of Bottle Tree Ensemble which includes 3 oboists / Cor Anglais, bassoon and strings playing mainly baroque music.
Christina is passionate about supporting other musicians regardless of age and encouraging adults to engage with playing wether it be to learn to play, or to take up an old school hobby.
